Each summer, the Concordia Free Enterprise Center chooses a small group of students to become Capitaf Scholars; this entails an all-expense paid trip to The Milton and Rose Friedman Center in Vermont, where attendees will learn about capitalism, engage in Socratic dialogs, tour historic locations, and engage in fun, recreational activities.

Why attend

This experience includes mornings of discussion with other university students based on the ideas of Milton Friedman's Free to Choose and Capitalism and Freedom books. Afternoons consist of excursions to places like the Goodrich Maple Farm, and a flint musket shooting experience. Other recreational activities include canoeing and swimming in the properties' pond, hiking the area trails, and free time for relaxation and board games. Students will also spend an evening in Boston, MA visiting Harvard University and exploring the Freedom Trail. The graduation ceremony will occur at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH.

Capitaf Scholars

Every student who completes the program is considered a Capitaf Scholar prepared to debate and discuss the free society wherever their careers may take them!

History of Capitaf

In July 2016, Free to Choose Network, Inc., in partnership with six individuals, formed Capitaf Partners, LLC and purchased Milton and Rose Friedman’s Vermont estate. It is now the site of The Milton and Rose Friedman Center at Capitaf: a one-of-a-kind space for discussion and contemplation on the practical application of Friedman’s ideas to the many public policy issues that citizens in a free society must grapple with on a daily basis. The Capitaf grounds encompass two houses, a tennis court, hiking trails, and a recreational pond on 90 acres of Vermont woodland.
