Concordia University School of Education offers the Robert M. and Margaret J. Lampert Foundation Scholarships. These scholarships are presented by the Lampert Foundation to support students pursuing their first teaching license. Scholarship amounts are determined by the foundation and are awarded in June for the upcoming academic year. Disbursement for the spring semester is dependent upon satisfactory completion of the fall semester.

Eligibility requirements

  • Have at least 1 semester remaining before graduation (including student teaching)
  • Intend to teach in a PK-12 setting and come from Concordia’s traditional undergraduate, accelerated undergraduate, or graduate education programs (Lutheran Teaching Diploma candidates excluded)
  • Undergrads must have 40 or more credits (freshmen are not eligible for the scholarship)
  • Undergrad - Have been a full-time student at Concordia University for at least one year prior to date of application
  • Graduate (CAPTL) – have been a full-time student for at least one semester
  • Have a cumulative grade point average (CGPA) at Concordia of 3.0 or higher

Application process

Submit the attached application along with the following items:

  • 600-word essay, double spaced, which succinctly answers the following questions:
    • Why are you pursuing a teaching career?
    • Why is teaching such an important profession?
    • What are the characteristics of an outstanding teacher?
    • What talents and/or strengths will you bring to the teaching profession?
  • A picture of yourself

Applications are due March 13, 2024 at 5:00 PM Central Time.
